CALL FOR PROJECTS - FNC FORUM

PREMIÈRES OEUVRES PITCH SESSION
presented by Netflix

A pitch session for first feature-length and medium-length Canadian films at the development stage

Deadline: August 10, 2020

For a second year, FNC Forum, the professional platform of Montreal Festival du nouveau cinéma, is launching its call for projects for the Premieres Oeuvres pitch session presented by Netflix, an event designated to Canadian feature and medium-length films in development. The event will take place online between October 8 and 18, 2020. Eight projects will be selected and the best pitch will receive a $10,000 CAD grant offered by Netflix.

This online event aims to support projects in development by connecting project holders with decision makers in the industry.

Project exhibitors will have seven minutes to present their project pitch to a panel of experts. Once the session is over, participants will have the opportunity to meet the jury privately to answer any questions they may have and will benefit from individual meetings organised by the FNC Forum team.

PITCHING SESSION PROCESS

The pitching session will take place online between 8 and 18 October 2020 and will be open to industry professionals. The session will include 8 pre-recorded pitch presentations that will be broadcast live.

For the pitch day, participants must prepare a pitch deck for their 7-minute presentation. The material must be sent no later than 48 hours before the event. A teaser poster or image presentation (1920 x 1080 pixels) will be asked as well.

8 first feature or medium-length films, (fiction, experimental and animation), at the development stage will be presented.

The pitch must be presented by the director, who may be accompanied by his/her producer and/or screenwriter.

The pitch must be in French and/or English.

Pitching time will be 7 minutes per project.

After the pitch, individual meetings with the jury and the decision-makers will be offered to the project leaders via the Zoom platform.

Each participant will receive the schedule for his/her pitch and meetings with the jury and decision-makers.

ELIGIBILITY

This event is open to Canadian-based directors with a first feature film project in development and seeking financing, as well as producers who are producing a first feature film.
