More than 300 films and activities, it's normal to not know where to look... So here some recommendations for the middle of the Festival.
... but also the occasion to meet some interesting people ! That's one of the orientations of those recommendations ...
1 pm, LA RIVIÈRE SANS REPOS by Marie-Hélène Cousineau & Madeline Ivalu. Amidst the violence and turmoil of the 20th century, a young Inuit woman oscillates between freedom and assimilation in this intimate melodrama that blows a fine wind of resistance, in keeping with its unconquered setting. The complete crew in attendance !
5 pm, Screening + discussion Poggi & Vinel ; 2 short film programs will be screened. A discussion moderated by Emilie Poirier will follow the screening of their co-directed films. The aesthetics of violence, weapons and the world of video games are found in their works, but never to the detriment of love, friendship, clan and family. Directors in attendance !

12:30 pm, SYSTEM CRASHER by Nora Fingscheidt. From foster homes to alternative therapies, jaded civil servants to compassionate social workers, the torturous path of a “problem child.” Winner of the Alfred-Bauer Prize for innovation at the last Berlin Festival, a draining, exhilarating film that will break your heart. Director in attendance !
6:15 pm, L'ACROBATE by Rodrigue Jean. Two strangers who meet by chance in an apartment under construction is the premise for a murky relationship defined by hardship, oppression and a clash of hearts and bodies. A mysterious and powerful new addition to Rodrigue Jean’s filmography. Main actors in attendance !. *Une deuxième séance a lieu jeudi.
7:15 pm, MICKEY AND THE BEAR by Annabelle Attanasio. A teen saddled with the responsibility of her oblivious father has to make an impossible choice in this début feature that picks apart the threads of a troubled father/daughter relationship. Director in attendance ! *There is a 2nd screening Wednesday

5:15 pm, THE GREAT TRAVELLER by Federico Hidalgo. n this mysterious story, travel writer Edgar and his old friend and colleague Bill set out on one last trip together, to write the sequel to their bestseller, written 20 years earlier. The trip is fraught with peril. Director in attendance !

1 pm, SHORT FILMS RPCÉ 4: UNIVERSIDAD DE LA COMUNICACIÓN. As part of RPCÉ (Pan-Canadian student film meeting), we are welcoming a group from UNIVERSIDAD DE LA COMUNICACIÓN of Mexico and screening their works.
5 pm, FERAL by Andrew Wonder. A young homeless woman living in the tunnels beneath Manhattan copes with trials and tribulations in her struggle to survive without compromising her own rules. Raw and energetic, Feral plunges headlong into an unrecognizable New York, with us riding shotgun beside its fierce protagonist. Director in attendance !
6:30 pm, UNE JOURNÉE DANS LA VIE DE NOAH PIUGATTUK by Zacharias Kunuk. Spotlighting the enforced exodus in the 1960s of an Inuit band on Baffin Island, the Isuma collective pays vibrant tribute to solidarity and tradition. The crew will be present !
