The Montreal Festival du nouveau cinema invites Quebec short films filmmakers to take part of the day Du livre au court métrage (From book to short film) at FNC Forum, on October 15th 2019 in Montréal.

As part of the activity Speed Meeting: Du livre au court métrage 2019, this call is looking for ten (10) short films filmmakers/producers to twin with 10 (10) talented authors.

OBJECTIVES

• To offer high-quality opportunities for cinema industry professionals
• To create real twins based on resumes, experiences and subjects of the selected creators.
• To promote the meetings between literary and film professionals
• To encourage the adaptation of a literary work on a short film.
• To create a new creative platform in Quebec.
  
  

ACTIVITIES

October 15th, 2019 runs through three different activities:

• Speed Meeting 2019 : Du livre au court métrage:Twinnings authors/short film filmmakers and producers at Agora Hydro-Québec (CO-R500) du Cœur des sciences de l’UQÀM

➢      Ten (10) twins will be done according to interests and subjects broached by the participants.
➢      NOTE: this activity is reserved to the candidates selected from this call

• Case Study : Speed Meeting 2018-17 at Agora Hydro-Québec (CO-R500) du Cœur des sciences de l’UQÀM

➢       A panel discussion between the twinned participants of the Speed Meeting: Du livre au court métrage 2018-17 to talk about their experience.

ELIGIBILITY

The authors must have published at least one (1) literary work with a publisher. An asset: to have received any institutional grant. They must show a true interest for a literary work adapted to screen.

The filmmakers and producers must have done at least two (2) short films turned in festivals. An asset: to have received any institutional grant. They must show a true interest for a literary work adapted to screen. 

All participants must be available and present in Montreal on October 15th, 2019.
